I T GOD

This is indeed not such a fantastic month for my IT stuff. My desktop konked, my old DELL lappy's keyboard kaput, which led to another problem.. then my current HP lappy's screen blacks out without warning.. and its only ONE year 3mths old!

After opening up the bloody PC, spoke to three different IT technicians in Penang for hours.. waited for a day for them to send me a Resource CD (how the hell do i know where i kept mine.. its been TWO bleeping years!), waited another 45 minutes for them to walk me through the diagnostics.. conclusion : " I am sorry Mr Chan. I think you have to reformat your desktop. I hope you dont have anything important inside!" !^&#%$@@!! We shall see what happens tomorrow. But Dell did provide great support. After everything.. a few hours later, a Dell rep called to make an appointment for the technician to come fix my lappy hinge, tomorrow!! wow.. thats fast. Then, another of the technicians called to asked how it went and how i can follow up. Half an hr later.. the Customer Svc dept called again to enquired, and asked me to call her if i need any further assistance. Talk abt Svc even other Tech Support talk abt.

My old Dell lappy, which i let my daughter use.. the keys on the keyboard decided to have a cardiac arrest.. so some keys cannot be used. Well, actuall the whole last row of keys died. "N" was the all important key that died.. so i cant log into MSN or yahoo. Dang! Called Dell, paid $169!! for a stupid plastic piece of keyboard. Technician came, fixed the keyboard.. then BROKE one the hinges when he tried to close the lappy! Then asked me.. was your lappy's hinges loose?? Then he said it was due to the screws being loose behind.. that's why it cracked when he tried to close the lappy! So i asked Suresh ( that was his name, polite indian chap though) Ehh mama.. u think i born yesterday ichit!?? Well, at least that was what i wanted to say to him. Instead, I told him i know u cracked it because it was fine just now. So, whats going to happen now?
Waited for another half hour for him to talk to his supervisors, Dell ppl, etc.. then conclusion... "Sorry sir.. you have to wait for Dell to send their technicians to come and verify the damage. If they find that it was his fault (OF COS it was his bloody fault!! i couldnt close my lappy now because if i did, the whole hinge area will crack! So now its sitting on my daughter's desk.. wide open!).. then Dell will repair it. Man.. talk abt offending the IT Gods.

Then now.. my new HP lappy.. whenever i open it up.. and boot up.. sometimes the screen just goes blank!! Everything else is working fine.. cos i can still hear the applications working. Dang! DAng! Tomorrow, i better go appease the Gods of IT.

Anyone know how?

p/s: I know if my friend Mohan is reading this.. he will be really Rolling on The Floor Laughing his bloody head off. So, if anyone reading this who knows which Mohan i'm talking abt, pls dont show him this blog. He has been nagging me and all his friends to switch to Mac since god knows when.

Change

I cant believe I am doing this .... Blogging. Changing your thoughts into letters and have the whole world read them. Amazing. Previously, it was called a diary, and it was always kept locked and sealed and under my bed, together with my .. err.. other magazines. We didnt have passwords protect then.. so we encoded what we wrote into numbers etc, not that anyone wanted to know when I dug my nose.

Hence, I will remember today, 22 May 2007. The day I decided not to fight Change. I always thought it was a waste of time, especially the reading of other people's blogs part. But what the hey.. if you cant beat them, join them. SZMN.. if you're reading this, thank you for showing me how. By the way, SZMN is a pretty, leggy lass, single at time of this posting. So, should anyone find this blog and is mucho-interested in her, do lemme know.
